This is a photograph of a gel transfer made by me. The image was drawn by me as well. The illustration used for this gel transfer is of a gyroid from the popular video game Animal Crossing. This project began with a drawing of the gyroid. After that, the image was resized and printed for transfer to the wood. After that, I coated the piece of wood I selected with gel and then left it to dry over night. The next I recoated it with gel and placed the printed image in top of the wood. The next day, I slowly poured water over it and scraped the paper off, leaving the image printed on the wood.
Overall, I think this turned out well. I chose not to paint the image because gyroid’s are already made of wood. I chose to draw a gyroid because it is a fun looking creature, it is easy to draw yet looks confusing and interesting and, overall, the image is very meaningful and nostalgic to me.
